Looking Back on Chuột Đất Books’ First Six Months

The first six months marked Chuột Đất Books’ very first steps on our journey of creating and publishing authentically Vietnamese children's books. As we closed out our first year with many memorable milestones, we'd like to look back on the heartfelt story behind those very first steps.

A Modest Goal, Yet an Ambitious Challenge

Just two months after being founded, Chuột Đất Books - a young team with little experience in publishing-set ourselves an ambitious goal: to release one new book every month.

In children's publishing, this is no easy feat. Every book that reaches a young reader's hands is the result of countless stages, from developing the story and creating illustrations to printing, production, and launching the book. While we knew it would be a challenging journey, we were determined to move forward with dedication, care, and perseverance.

A Meaningful Beginning for Chuột Đất Books' Collection

We're grateful and delighted that we achieved the goal we set, introducing a series of quality picture books that celebrate Vietnamese culture and childhood.

1. Dad Is - Released in September 2025

Our very first title marked the beginning of Chuột Đất Books' journey to create authentically Vietnamese children's books. Through familiar images and the innocent perspective of a child, Dad Is reflects our wish to tell everyday stories in a way that truly speaks to Vietnamese children.

2. Let Us Out! - Released in October 2025

Continuing that journey, Let Us Out! is a playful, lighthearted story about the curiosity and boundless energy of childhood. It offers young readers an engaging reading experience filled with delightful discoveries.

3. Mom Is - Released in November 2025

While Dad Is introduces children to the wonders of the world around them, Mom Is... brings them into a warmer, more intimate space, where ordinary moments become beautiful symbols of love, care, and comfort.

4. What's Inside the Tummy? - Released in December 2025

Closing out 2025, What's Inside the Tummy? is an interactive picture book that answers children's familiar questions through engaging illustrations and an age-appropriate approach designed especially for preschoolers.

A Small Collection, Filled with Heart

Four books in six months may seem like a modest achievement. Yet behind each title lies countless hours of dedication, hard work, and determination from a young team still finding its footing.
